I was interested to hear how the first Big Muff sounded, so I drew up this layout from the schematic of the first hand wired versions that was made around 1968-1971. It doesn't have as much gain or volume as a modern Big Muff, but it sounds excellent, much more articulate. I found the schematic on Kit Rae's excellent Big Muff PI home page here.

I always likked muffs to a certain extent then I heard some triangles and then started to love muffs. the triangles are what really catch my ear along with the shreddy versions. such stable smooth creamy sustain that I cant quite get from other fuzzes. some fuzzes have the same or more sustain but its not as smooth or stable as a muff. and of course you can achieve a long sustain with a loud tube amp but its not the same sound.i like the 72#1 and 72#2 also. these 2 seem to sound great also. smoother too my ear. its alsome that you layed this version out because its a less common one.
