Blip Blop Noisemaker, dogs and stuff

Here is something really stupid that I made a few months ago. I was a bit tired of making guitar effects so I wanted to make a simple noisemaker and the atari punk console didn't do it for me, so I made up this "random note" tone-generator. The LFO is based on R.G. Keens psuedo random LFO that feeds into a LM13700 based VCO. Nothing special, but fun for a little while. :P

Got this one up and running tonight. It does what it does quite well. This one will play well with my other DIY synths. Thanks Fredrik!

Cool :) Yes, it's a fun little circuit. Gets really annoying if you listen to it for too long :D I've been thinking about adding more "synthy" stuff in the future such as drone synths, sequencers and stuff like that.

Hi

I've built this and I love what I have (I'm tempted to not debug it and keep it as it is.)

I don't seem to get the lower frequencies from the demo, can you explain what the blips and ramp switches should do as for me Ramp seems to make little difference and blip is cutting the effect.

I will do a full vero debug (knife thgutters/check over the build, check offboard wiring etc) but I kind of like the random theramin like sound that I could almost leave on and listen to.

Can I also say I love your pedals, I've ordered an arcadiator board to make next. Your pedals are the best kept secret in guitar pedals and it's amazing that you are also so generous with the designs and layouts b sharing them with the DIY community. Thank you

Hi!
Thank you for commenting and the kind words!

Sorry to hear about that you are having issues with this one, although I must say that the random theremin'esque sound does sound pretty cool. :)

The blip switch turns one oscillator on or off that are directly fed by the psuedo random LFO, making blip bloppy sounds.

The ramp switch turns on or off a triangle wave LFO that makes a ramping sound. Together trey make a very chaotic sound, and both modes can be off (killing the sound).

It's hard to tell what the problem could be. I would check the usual suspects as you already mentioned, solder bridges, jold joints ect. I hope you find the problem

cheers / Fredrik

The Good News is it's working! (solder joints around the socket legs).

The Bad news is.... it's working! Somebody IS going to kill me for playing with it.

Amazing, I love it!

(Maybe I miss the broken singing theramin a little)

Thank you!

Is it possible to add CV out to this board?

I have built the Vero version and it worked perfectly first time I fired it up! I added a 3 way speed switch to the Rate pot to give Fast, Normal and Slow speeds, regardless of where the Rate pot is set. Great projects!

Cheers,
Jason.
